Temperature monitoring authorities including NASA headed by James Hansen, British Meteorology Office (David Parker),and CRU East Anglia (Phil Jones) had posted similar temperatures for more then 90 Years. In 1996 they agreed to reduce the global temperature baseline they had all been using from 59 F (15 C) to 57 F (14 C), this resulted in the 1995 temperature being lowered from 59.7 f to 58 F in 1996. Hansen continued commentary on the warming trend until 1995: The NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York, shows the average 1995 temperature at 59.7 degrees, slightly ahead of 1990 as the warmest year since record-keeping began in 1866, Dr. James E. Hansen, who heads the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York, said he was “more confident than ever” that there is “a real warming which is not just a chance fluctuation but is a long-term trend, and that trend is due to the greenhouse effect.” Dr. Hansen gained notice in 1988 by testifying before Congress that the greenhouse effect was probably causing global warming.

In 2000 Hansen stunned the global warming zealots when he submitted that Carbon Dioxide might not be the cause of  global warming after all!

After all the work he had done at NASA, the temperature graphs and reports that he had meticulously compiled, that go back to 1880, have counted for nothing.

I could not find any reports, except for those where he had changed his mind, on any of the climate reports and I wonder whether he has buckled and rejoined the pack after being ignored for so long!
