FORMER ACTU LEADER ISSUES WARNING ON COSTS OF RENEWABLES

“An energy transition based on intermittent intermittent weather, regardless of emerging problems. The 2035 targets are politically determined, set at 62-70 per cent, even though Labor’s 2030 target won’t be met. Setting higher targets can’t mask the fundamental problems of a target driven transition. It will satisfy an international audience but will fail our domestic needs. Our economy can’t be powered by intermittent, weather dependent renewables, nor are they the cheapest form of energy when whole of system costs are included. That’s why the government refuses to release full costings. Without Billions in taxpayer funded subsidies and relief packages, labor’s transition would have collapsed and still may. It’s magic pudding economics ” Jennie George former ACTU chief.

Large gum trees can withstand strong winds because they are flexible unlike the rigid material uprights of a Wind Turbine which is why you see so many of them collapsing during a storm. Their is no turning back we are now stuck with them.

You can see in the photo where the upright has buckled in the middle. They new of the problem beforehand but thought it better they handball it to the next administration!!

Little wonder that they are suggesting a tax on a spare bedroom and a tax on future estimated income. What else might be required to pay for this Government’s stupidity!
