1995 AT 14.40 C SHOULD HAVE BEEN WARMER THAN 15.34 C IN 1994

Global temperatures were dropped by one degree Celsius in 1995 to 14.40 C while the 1994 temperature remained at 15.34 C, a temperature which exceeded the deadly 1.5 C above the pre-industrial temperature of 13.76 C at 15.26 (59.47 F). The 1994 average global temperature was slightly cooler than earth’s highest ever temperature of 15.45 C (59.81 F) in 1990. NASA, CRU East Anglia and British Met Office had previously published the 1915 Global temperature at 15 C (59 F).

British scientists changed the 1951-1980 baseline average temperature reference period at 15 C to the 1961-1990 period which was shown as cooler at 14 C in an attempt to justify their reporting of cooler temperatures and to provide a pathway for warming back up to 15 C + in 2025 but as you can see by the NOAA graph above the 1961-1991 period was warmer than the 1951-1980 period.

While the NOAA graph above might accurately reflect the increase in anomalies it is fraudulent by it’s employment of graph using a broken Y-axis that begins at 13.9 C instead of starting at zero. According to the NOAA temperatute record the 1980 anomaly was 0.31 C compared to 0.45 C in 1990 a difference of 0.15 C.

The NASA graph below, published in 2022, was NASA’s first and disappointingly the only temperature chart I could find with a zero Y axis. Furthermore the NASA graph does not show the higher temperatures of the late eighties nor the world’s warmest year in 1990 at 59.81 F. The warming was  exaggerated in the late 1980’s around the time when the IPCC was established.

There was some warming in the late eighties around the time the IPCC was formed. If there was one degree of warming since 1880 (if they had reliable methods of measuring the earth temperature then) you would need to deduct the warming caused by the removing of 47% of the world’s trees which is estimated to have contributed to 0.35 C of the warming which leaves a net warming of 0.650 C. Where is the problem!

About half the Victrian councils are spruking climate change and telling us we are very close to exceeding the deadly 1.5 C above the pre-industrial temperature of 13.76 C when all hell will break loose. But what they are not saying is that we exceeded the deadly 1.5 C on numerous occassions back in the 80’s and 90’s.

In future years they may not have to use actual temperature readings instead they might only need to state a particular year’s departure from the dreaded 1.5 C e.g. “2026 brought good news it was only 1.4 C” which would limit scrutiny and the time wasted justifying the dodgy climate reports of the IPCC.

The WMO global temperature in 1994 at 15.32 C was a fraction warmer than in 2024 at 15.31 C not much difference in 30 Years!

Tom Karl, head of NOAA, announced an average global of 16.917 C (62.45 F) for 1997, 16.72 C in 1996, 16.86 C in 1995, 16.56 C in 1994, 16.56 C in 1993, 16.55 C in 1945, 16.36 C in 1900. In 1998 he admitted his data was too hot and suggested that the 1998 CRU East Anglia at 58 F (14.44 C) has the correct temperature, the same temperature as the hockey stick.

In 1998, NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) reported that the average global surface temperature was the warmest on record at that time, primarily driven by a strong El Niño. The 1998 global temperature anomaly was approximately (0.90 C) above the 1951-1980 average of 15 C. This marked a record-breaking year, exceeding the previous high in 1995. This was warmer than in 1990 at 15.45 C. In contrast CRU East Anglia have 1998 at 14.44 C (58 F).

In a warming world how could the average temperatures in 1961-1990 not be warmer than in the 1951-1980 period.?
