Manningham Household Panel Members wanted.

The Council is offering for us all to help them set out the plan for the next 20 years – so lets take them up on the offer…

We will have to find a way to make sure our input is heard, valued, AND ACTED UPON.

They have shown in the past that they are more interested in being able to count how  many people participated, then following through with the community sentiment.

Why not put in your online wish for Manningham 2030

My wish for Manningham is… To protect the existing character of Doncaster & Manningham areas. The homes with back yards, neighbourhoods without high rise apartments in side streets. Nothing above two stories. No overshadowing, Nothing overbearing.
A place where families can grow up, play, have visitors come around and be able to park close by. A place where traffic is rarely crowded, and there is plenty of parking. A place where council respects existing long term residents, and plans to keep them, not force them out with the greed of developers.

3 November 2011

Dear Manningham Resident,

As you may well be aware, Council has embarked upon its largest community engagement project; Generation 2030.  Since we launched the project in late February, we have gathered almost 10,000 responses from the community on their wish for the future of Manningham.

All the information Council gathers from Generation 2030 will help form a 20 year Community Plan for Manningham.  The Community Plan will drive Council policies, assist with prioritising resources and identify innovative and exciting ways of working together to achieve the Plan. It will also highlight which partnerships with local neighbourhoods, community organisations and Government will be necessary to achieve the vision for 2030 together.

We are now moving into the third stage, which brings all these wishes together in six distinct themes which we would like to discuss with the community to seek their feedback.  This is the most exciting phase of the project, as we are asking the community to collectively develop a set of actions to help us achieve our vision together.  The next phase will kick off in late November with six targeted workshops addressing each theme.

We would like to extend a welcome to attend these sessions.  This is a valuable opportunity for you to have your say in the future of Manningham. We also encourage you to bring along friends, family or neighbours.

If you have any further queries about this exciting project please contact me on 9840 9342.  For more information please visit www.generation2030.com.au

Kind regards

Sharon Prince
