NO GLOBAL WARMING AFTER 1998
According to WMO, apart from a 0.19 Celsius step up from 2014 to 2015, there had been no global warming since 1998. NOAA, in 1997, reduced its Global Average Surface Temperatures (GAST), shown previously in Fahrenheit from 1900-1997, by more than two degrees Celsius to match the UN/WMO in 1993.

However, in 2015, just months before the Paris Climate conference (November/December 2015) NOAA raised all its GAST data, dating back to 2001, by an average of more than 0.07 Celsius, shown below in red, to demonstrate that the earth had indeed warmed thus ensuring the success of the Paris Agreement. While this was going on the UN who are the hosts of the climate conferences and had control of the WMO made no alteration to its own data and allowed NOAA’s inflated temperatures to stand without question.
John Bates, a former official with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) — he was in charge of that agency’s climate-data archive — posted a lengthy account detailing how a 2015 report on global warming was mishandled. Bates wrote a specific and carefully sourced 4,100-word exposéd that accused Tom Karl his ex-colleague at NOAA, of influencing the results and release of a crucial paper that purports to refute the pause in global warming.
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is an intergovernmental organization with a membership of 193 Member States and Territories. It originated from the International Meteorological Organization (IMO), the roots of which were planted at the 1873 Vienna International Meteorological Congress. Established by the ratification of the WMO Convention on 23 March 1950, WMO became the specialised agency of the United Nations for meteorology (weather and climate), operational hydrology and related geophysical sciences a year later. The Secretariat, headquartered in Geneva, is headed by the Secretary-General. Its supreme body is the World Meteorological Congress.
Karl Saved Paris
The long serving heads of the main temperature monitoring agencies, James Hansen (NASA), David Parker (British Met Office), Phil Jones (University of East Anglia) and Tom Karl of (NOAA), 100 years of service to climatology between them, had each published annual Global Average Temperatures throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s that were well above the 2020 temperature of 58.78 degrees Fahrenheit (14.88 C). I cannot understand why someone has not taken action against these people who are accepting funds to fix a problem that does not exist. Or could it represent the final triumph of irrationality over common sense!

These new restrictions on emissions and the move away from coal won’t charge the batteries in electric vehicles. We will have industry, domestic and future transport to power which means we have to stick with coal or start building nuclear power stations.
NOAA lost a great deal of credibility by the way they kept changing world temperatures. The New York Times published data from NOAA showing the hottest period was in 1988 one degree warmer than in 2020!
Actually the 1988 global temperature at 59.612 F (15.34 C) exceeded the 15.19 C, i.e. the dreaded 1.5 C above 13.69 C they keep warning us of.
Dr. Hansen, NASA who records temperatures from readings at monitoring stations around the world, had previously reported that four of the hottest years on record occurred in the 1980’s. Compared with a 30-year base period from 1950 to 1980, when the global temperature averaged 59 degrees Fahrenheit, the temperature was one-third of a degree higher last year. In the entire century before 1880, global temperature had risen by half a degree, rising in the late 1800’s and early 20th century, then roughly stabilizing for unknown reasons for several decades in the middle of the century.
No one knew what the global temperature was in 1997. What else could you assume when such a respected monitoring agency, such as NOAA, could be more than two degrees Celsius warmer in 1997 than today?
Apart from a step up of 0.19 C in world temperature from 2014 to 2015 there has been no global warming since 1998. WMO, who did not begin publishing their climate reports until 1993, used the average temperature of 13.69 C for the pre-industrial period, 14 C for 1961 to 1990 period and 14.30 C for the years between 1981-2010 as baseline references..

Tom Karl retired the following year (2016) which is not surprising. WMO did not alter its data in the period 2001-2015 to match that of Karl.

This is crazy! WMO, an agency of the UN, who are not backward in exaggerating temperatures, show a slight warming of 0.19 C between 2014-2015 but no warming between 1998 -2014.
