FROM PARKLAND TO WASTE DEPOT

Shannon Lynch started this petition

1) A light industrial Estate is planned to be built next to Cranbourne Golf Club side along Glasscocks Rd and Narre South Residents without community consultation.

2) Residents within 500 metre buffer zone will now have to list it on a section 32, as part of that home owners would not be able to redevelop without EPA approval.

3) Permanent waste sorting site to be at current site which will store waste/ sort it before it is shipped out to safer locations. This is a new thing but is from the state government. This location is 250 metres from houses in Lynbrook, Cranbourne North and Hampton Park.

4) Residents only have until the end of the month 31/07/2022 at 6pm to put in objection and this was after only a handful of residents being notified by mail on the 6/07/2022.

This is concerning that this has just been sent in letter on the 6/7/2022without any public knowledge when it’s been in the plan since 2021.

Clearly not all residents know about this so sign this petition and also put your objection in through the Casey Council Website.

Residents and MP Gary MAAS has fought for an extension and further public consultation and the deadline has been moved too 14/08/2022. This is still before the next council meeting and a tactical ploy by the three administrators who have not held a council meeting since public notification/consult.

We require a face to face public meeting not via Zoom, Video or other means! Hampton Park, Narre Warren South and Cranbourne North residents are all from diverse background and this kind of plat form is not fair.

Say no to Industrial Zone and State Waste centre that will put over 1300 residents at risk living within the 500 metre buffer zone which the EPA recommends for this kind of Waste Centre to operate!

774 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!

At 1,000 signatures, this petition is more likely to be featured in recommendations!

  1. Ray Garby says:

Surely there are alternative sites for waste processing further away from residential areas. Not only from a health aspect but also its effect on property values.

  2. John Stanford says:

There is something terribly wrong with local government. Why had Casey Councillors allowed this to happen?
