GBR BEST HEALTH IN THIRTY SIX YRS
The Great Barrier Reef, one is one of the planet’s natural jewels, stretching for more than 2,300 km along Australia’s north-east.of is now at its healthiest since 1986. This week, a report on the amount of coral across the reef showed the highest level in the 36 years of monitoring in the north and central parts. It is remarkable that the world has been convinced that one of its most pristine ecosystems is on its last legs according to experts who blamed global warming.

December 6, 2020: The International Union for Conservation of Nature had released its latest report on the state of the Great Barrier Reef. It turned up the volume by one notch, claiming the threat to the reef has gone from “significant concern” to “critical”. It blamed climate change, agricultural pollution, coastal development, industry, mining, shipping, over fishing, disease, problematic native species, coal dust — you name it, it is killing the reef. But the report was just a rehash of old, mostly wrong or misleading information produced by generally untrustworthy scientific institutions with an activist agenda and no commitment to quality assurance.
Part of the problem is that, being underwater and a long way from the coast, very few people visit the reef. The truth is hidden. Those of us in North Queensland living adjacent to the reef, and tourists from elsewhere, can report the water is iridescent clear blue and unpolluted. The fish and coral are fabulous.

The groupthink and hysteria were astonishing, and hurt Queensland’s tourism industry.
But questioning the scare was dangerous. I pointed out evidence that the reef was in good shape, bouncing back from bleaching and cyclones, yet was repeatedly attacked by the ABC’s Media Watch.
Far more serious, shameful and sinister was the ABC’s hounding of the one prominent Australian expert who correctly warned that many climate scientists exaggerated the reef threat.
Peter Ridd was head of James Cook University’s physics department and Marine Geophysical Laboratory, yet Media Watch pilloried him as some crank and quoted a scientist sneering that Ridd’s warnings were like “the tobacco industry strategy defending smoking”.
Worse, James Cook University – in one of the most shameful chapters in the history of our universities – sacked Ridd for criticising his colleagues’ exaggerations.
From the Bolte report
How stupid it was to say this beautiful reef was dying when in fact it has been growing. It is a major blow to the global warming movement who have hitched climate change con to its expected deterioration. There will be day of reckoning for these gravy train experts and when it occurs it will be brutal.
How do we know the photo is genuine? It could be 40 years old. I would like to see more evidence to prove the reef has grown.
Snippet from Dr Jennifer Marohasy re the employment of double standards.
In March, AIMS was claiming more than 90% of the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) to be severely bleached. That was in the lead up to the federal election, the climate change election.
Now in August, just a few months later, the same organisation is claiming healthy corals and record high coral cover across more than two-thirds of the GBR.
These two results are irreconcilable. It is not possible that 90% of the reef was severely bleached in March and at the same time the corals were healthy and expanding their range.
